Course Objectives:
Reading is common in daily life and is critical for school learning and job performance. Yet reading instruction does not always serve its educational goal well. Much effort needs to be invested into promoting high quality reading education. Knowing the science of reading research and then plan and deliver instruction according to validated principles are best ways to improve classroom practice. This course is designed to inform the major knowledge of reading research, factors affecting reading performance, and effective strategies of teaching reading abilities for school learners.
