This course examines Taiwan’s educational system, policies, and reform issues in relation to its historical, cultural, and social contexts. Students explore Taiwanese culture, ethnic groups, religion, and educational development, and analyze the implications of Taiwan’s educational experience through lectures, discussions, and field-based learning.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Understand Taiwan’s education system, policies, and reform issues
Analyze the relationship between Taiwanese culture, history, and education
Reflect on the implications of Taiwan’s educational development for broader educational contexts
