Course Description:

This course is designed for students to learn about Taiwan educational system and culture. The content starts with Taiwan history in order to understand how current composition for ethnic groups exist. Through exploration on history of school and education system, the recent policies and important issues, including 12 year education policy, changes in higher education and cross-strait relationship, are also discussed.

Course goals:

1. To learn about current educational system,policy and issues related to education

2. To understand Taiwanese culture and history, including the history.

3. To learn the implications from Taiwan education experience.
